Pushkar Singh Dhami completes 5 years as Chief Minister, says, Service is the identity of our government

Pushkar Singh Dhami has completed five years as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. On this occasion, a government program was organized at the IDPL Ground in Rishikesh. Thousands of people attended the event and welcomed the Chief Minister with a shower of flower petals. At the event, CM Dhami launched the Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight) program. It has been titled “Service, Good Governance, and Dedication: Government for Every Citizen, at Every Doorstep.” This event became a historic milestone marking Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s completion of five years in office. For the first time in Uttarakhand’s history, a Chief Minister has achieved this milestone by leading the state continuously for five years.
At the event, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 51 development projects in Dehradun district, with a total cost exceeding ₹219 crore. The presence of public representatives on the stage and thousands of people in the ground turned the event into a grand celebration of public faith and public participation.
Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh congratulated Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on successfully serving for more than five years, stating that this achievement symbolizes the people’s trust, democratic stability, and continuity of development. He said that historic decisions had been taken in Uttarakhand, including an anti-cheating law, a law against religious conversion, and a strict land law. He added that it is on the sacred land of Rishikesh and Haridwar that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made such a strong decision against corruption that, in the future, even corrupt officials would tremble with fear.
Former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ also appeared highly appreciative of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s style of governance. In his address, he described CM Dhami as a strong leader and even said that whenever other states in the country follow the decisions taken by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it fills him with immense pride.
In his address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami clearly stated that this occasion is not a celebration for the government but an opportunity for introspection and to strengthen its commitment to public service. He said that power has never been the goal for him; rather, it has always been a means to serve the people. Calling public service, good governance, dedication, and the trust of the people the government’s greatest assets, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the resolve to make Uttarakhand a developed and exemplary state by the year 2035.(UPDATED ON 5TH JULY 2026)
