Adani Defence to o Invest ₹2,500 Crore in Madhya Pradesh

Adani Defence & Aerospace on Sunday laid the foundation stone for South Asia’s largest private-sector missile ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. This is being seen as a major step toward advancing the company’s defence manufacturing goals under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative. The company said that this integrated facility will bring the entire missile manufacturing value chain—from raw materials to mission-ready missile systems—under one roof, a first for India’s private sector. An investment of ₹2,500 crore will be made in this project.

Speaking on the occasion, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, said, “This facility will bring raw materials and mission-ready missiles under one roof, marking a historic initiative outside the public sector.” The Shivpuri complex will manufacture medium- and long-range missile systems. It will also include facilities for producing composite propellants as well as TNT and explosive-grade materials, strengthening India’s indigenous defence production capabilities.

Jeet Adani said that the company will invest ₹2,500 crore in the project over the next three years. He added, “This investment will generate direct and indirect employment for 5,000 people, and more than 50 MSMEs will become part of a highly specialized supply chain.” According to the company, the new facility will further strengthen its existing defence manufacturing operations in Gwalior, where it manufactures light machine guns, assault rifles, and carbines.

At the Global Investors Summit held in Bhopal last year, Chairman Gautam Adani announced investments worth ₹1.10 lakh crore in hydro pump storage, cement, mining, smart meter, and thermal power projects in the state. The goal is to create 120,000 jobs by 2030.

Jeet Adani also said that the group has already invested more than ₹4,000 crore in its Amehta and Kymore cement plants in Katni district. In addition, Adani Power is currently supplying 1,200 MW of electricity to Madhya Pradesh, while projects with a total capacity of 5,600 MW are under development. He also mentioned the ongoing wind energy projects in Dhar, Ratlam, and Ujjain, as well as the proposed cement plant in Ujjain and the recently launched ₹1,060 crore cement project in Guna.(UPDATED ON 5TH JULY 2026)
