President graces convocation of Rani Durgavati University at Jabalpur

The President Smt Droupadi Murmu graced the 36th convocation ceremony of Rani Durgavati University at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh today (June 21, 2026).
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that education is the most effective means for the development of any individual or community. Therefore, striving for the educational advancement of tribal community is of great importance. We must collectively ensure that tribal youth have opportunity to contribute in modern development while simultaneously preserving their tribal identity and distinctiveness in its authentic form. Also, traditional skills and knowledge of the tribal community should be disseminated through various mediums. A comprehensive study of tribal knowledge and craft traditions would be beneficial for all citizens of the country. Educational institutions like Rani Durgavati University should make special efforts in this regard.
The President said that the country is scaling new heights in sectors such as digital technology, startups, green energy, space research and modern infrastructure. She advised young people to seize these opportunities and make their mark on the global stage. She further advised them to fulfill their responsibility towards the environment. She said that a commitment to the conservation of water, forests, and land, the use of clean energy, the protection of biodiversity, and sustainable development should be an integral part of their life’s journey.(UPDATED ON 21ST JUNE 2026)
