BJP Announces Nationwide Campaign To Promote Use Of Vande Mataram

The BJP will undertake a nationwide campaign to spread awareness and promote the use of Vande Mataram. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the decision was taken in the first meeting of newly appointed national office-bearers of the party in New Delhi.

The Spokesperson lashed out at the Congress party for allegedly stopping the recitation of the national song Vande Mataram after two stanzas at a programme at its headquarters in New Delhi. He said that the party recently passed a resolution echoing its October 1937 resolution to sing only the first two paragraphs of Vande Mataram.

He said that the effort of the Congress to disregard the National Song will not succeed. He highlighted that even Mahatma Gandhi spoke about singing Vande Mataram. Mr Patra said that Vande Mataram is a mantra of the nation and is not meant to divide Hindus and Muslims.(UPDATED ON 22ND AUGUST 2026)
