PM Modi holds second high-level meeting with secretaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held the second high-level meeting with Secretaries to the Government of India at his residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, in New Delhi. The meeting reviewed sectors related to finance and the economy, commerce and industry, and technology. During the meeting, there were detailed discussions on the future action plan and the priorities of various ministries to achieve the goals of a Developed India.

Modi emphasized the need for better coordination and teamwork among the various ministries and departments of the government. He stressed the importance of eliminating both horizontal and vertical operational barriers within the government so that all departments work in coordination with one another and ensure integrated and effective outcomes.

The Prime Minister said that citizen-centric governance should be the highest priority, stating that the people of the country must remain at the center of the governance system. He reminded everyone that every decision and policy should align with the interests and aspirations of ordinary citizens. PM Modi emphasized that while India is making significant investments in infrastructure development, equal priority should also be given to developing indigenous technologies. He particularly stressed the importance of achieving technological self-reliance and building domestic capabilities in critical sectors.

PM Modi emphasized that energy security is directly linked to national security, economic stability, and the well-being of citizens. He said that India must achieve self-reliance in the energy sector by accelerating innovation, diversification, and capacity building.

Describing reforms not merely as a trend or a fashionable term but as a continuous necessity for effective governance, Modi stressed the need to improve work processes, enhance work culture, and strengthen institutional efficiency.

The Prime Minister also said that with the increasing use of technology, special attention must be given to cybersecurity to protect digital systems and infrastructure. He called for constant vigilance against emerging cyber threats and urged greater participation of young innovators and entrepreneurs in the field of cybersecurity..(UPDATED ON 28TH JULY 2026)
