EAM S. Jaishankar Meets Foreign Ministers Of Philippines, Russia & Singapore In Manila

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar today held a meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Philippines, Russia and Singapore in Manila, Philippines, on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit and ASEAN Region Forum Meetings.

During the meeting with his Russian Counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Dr Jaishankar raised strong concern regarding the safety of Indian seafarers in the region. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said that the discussions focused on aspects of India- Russia partnership. Both sides also exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict and the Gulf situation.

During the meeting with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, Dr Jaishankar discussed further strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the two countries. The External Affairs Minister said that the discussions also focused on the recent developments in the Indo-Pacific. Dr Jaishankar also met his Singapore counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan and appreciated Mr Balakrishnan’s insights and assessments on the region, as also on global developments.
