VP Radhakrishnan Pays Floral Tributes To Vanchinathan

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan today paid floral tributes to Freedom Fighter Vanchinathan on his death anniversary at Uprashtrapati Bhavan. In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan said that Vanchinathan was deeply committed to India’s freedom and fearlessly challenged colonial rule and the British suppression of the Swadeshi movement. The Vice President said that Vanchinathan avenged the repressive actions taken against revolutionary freedom fighters by the British Collector of Tirunelveli through his historic act at Maniyachi Railway Station before laying down his own life for the nation.

Mr Radhakrishnan said that Vanchinathan’s valiant act, extraordinary courage, unwavering patriotism and supreme sacrifice for the nation at a young age became a source of inspiration for countless freedom fighters in India’s struggle for Independence.।(UPDATED ON 17TH JUNE 2026)
