VP, PM, Dr Singh and Shekhawat Urges Space Startups To Build Robust Ecosystem & Attract Global Talent

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended their greetings on the occasion of National Space Day.
In a social media post, Radhakrishnan said that India’s remarkable achievements in space exploration stand as a testament to country’s scientific excellence, spirit of innovation and determination to push the frontiers of knowledge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while sharing a video on social media, said that in the new global order, India is continuously expanding its space sector. Mr Modi said that today, Gen-Z engineers, designers, coders and scientists are creating new technologies.
He also noted that India’s private space talent is creating its own unique identity across the world. The Prime Minister said that India’s space sector is a magnet for global investors.
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, has recalled the historic success of Chandrayaan-3. In a social media post, Dr Singh remembered the moment on 23rd August, 2023, when Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon’s south polar region. He said the achievement placed India among the world’s leading spacefaring nations and lauded the remarkable contribution of Indian scientists.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said space technology is a key pillar for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat and driving India towards a 45-billion-dollar space economy.
Addressing the 3rd National Space Day celebrations in Ahmedabad today, the Minister emphasised that space reforms mark a major leap forward by democratizing opportunities for startups and industry leaders.
On the occasion, the minister also highlighted the enduring legacy of Dr Vikram Sarabhai. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan and Space Applications Centre Director V. N. Rao were present at the event alongside prominent scientists, researchers, and industry leaders.(UPDATED ON 23RD AUGUST 2026
