Union Health Ministry Organises Two-Day National Conference of MDOs

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) organised a two-day National Conference of Ministry, Department and Organisations (MDOs) under the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) on August 20–21, 2026, at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi.
The conference was organised by the Training Division, DoHFW, in collaboration with NIHFW, Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and Karmayogi Bharat to strengthen organisational capacity for effective implementation of Mission Karmayogi.
The conference brought together representatives from 140 institutes under DoHFW, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration to promote a ‘whole-of-government’ approach and break organisational silos. Dr. Alka Mittal, Member, CBC, as Chief Guest and Shri Rakesh Verma, Chief Operating Officer, Karmayogi Bharat, graced the inaugural session.
On the second day, Dr. Vinod Kotwal, Additional Secretary (Training), MoHFW, graced the event and emphasised the importance of capacity building and encouraged MDOs to contribute to Health Domain courses for caregivers, nursing and allied health professionals, geriatric care and other priority areas. She also urged MDOs to strengthen initiatives such as Capacity Building Units (CBUs) and finalisation of the Annual Capacity Building Plan (ACBP) 2026–27.(UPDATED ON 21ST AUGUST 2026)
