‘The day Amit Shah responds in the House, you won’t be able to listen
During the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the opposition’s uproar has continued in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Today Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has clearly said that when Home Minister Amit Shah responds in the House, the opposition will not be able to listen to him.
Amid the uproar in Parliament, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju launched a sharp attack on the Congress and other opposition parties. Rijiju said, “Raising slogans and creating disruptions has become a habit of the opposition. Even extremists and terrorists tremble upon hearing the name of Home Minister Amit Shah. The day the Home Minister gives his statement in the House, the opposition’s difficulties will increase—you will not be able to listen to his response. The minister responsible for a matter is the one who responds in the House. The opposition will not decide which minister will come and when. That is not for the opposition to decide.”
Kiren Rijiju said, “The government has several important bills that we are bringing forward. I once again appeal. The newly elected Members of Parliament from the Congress Party do not even get a chance to speak. Senior Congress leaders create disruptions, and the new leaders do not get an opportunity to speak. Whose fault is that? Delimitation and women’s reservation are very important issues. Congress members oppose them. This is, in a way, a betrayal of the women of the country. Everyone knows about our commitment. Congress will have to face the consequences of its anti-women stance.” It may be noted that the government could soon introduce the Delimitation Bill in Parliament.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “There is less discussion in Parliament. The reason is that the opposition and the Congress Party created disruptions by raising slogans. The proceedings of the House have continued, and bills have been passed. However, there has been less discussion because of the disruptions. Home Minister Amit Shah remains in Parliament from morning until late at night. The opposition should not engage in theatrics. Which minister speaks in the House and for how long is decided by the House with the approval of the Speaker. The opposition cannot decide which minister will speak and when. When Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaks, they (the opposition) will have to sit quietly and listen. When they are unable to listen and leave the House, they will have to apologize.
