SC Directs Centre To ensure -Free Space For Pedestrians On Roads

The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to ensure that every road has a properly demarcated and encroachment-free space for pedestrians, observing that people should be able to walk safely without the fear of moving vehicles

. A bench comprising Justices P. S. Narasimha and Alok Aradhe asked Additional Solicitor General K. M. Nataraj to issue necessary instructions to the concerned authorities to clearly separate pedestrian spaces from motor vehicle lanes and keep them free from encroachments.
