PM Modi Credits Youth For India’s Progress In Science, Technology And Sports

Prime Minister Narendra Modi credited Indian youth for achieving progress in the area of science, technology and sports and called upon them to contribute in the areas of cleanliness drive, water conservation and conservation of natural resources and gift Indian artifacts. He was speaking after inaugurating the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru today. The Prime Minister emphasised that Swamy Vivekananda’s vision was to mentor our youth and empower them to work for nation building. Swamiji regarded the education of the youth as the strong foundation for nation building.

Prime Minister Modi said that the potential of the youth becomes a driving force only when they find the right opportunities and the right direction to dream big with confidence to realise their goal. He highlighted that today the youth in India are leading the world’s third largest startup ecosystem, atmanirbhar Bharat mission and Make in India initiative. He said, the capabilities of our youth has today transformed India into the second largest mobile phone market, new strides are made in semiconductor manufacturing, innovations and in private sector space missions.

Mr. Modi underscored the progress achieved in the last 12 years by saying that more than 650 new universities were established, 14000 new colleges, over 4000 ITIs, nine new IIMs and seven new IITs, 13 new AIIMS and Medical seats increased to one lakh 40,000 in 823 Medical colleges. Over 14000 PM Shri schools are ensuring that education goes beyond mere textbooks and foster innovation and 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs are also working in that direction. He further said that Khelo India, University games and Youth Games have provided our youth to display their talent and win medals across the world.
