Modi maintains coordination with security personnel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen coordinating security arrangements with the special squads deployed for his security before arriving at the swearing-in ceremony of Suvendu Adhikari as Chief Minister and five members of his team in Kolkata.

Modi was initially travelling in a vehicle with Suvendu Adhikari to the oath taking venue premises but decided to reach the crowd of thousands present at the premises and immediately after informing Suvendu Adhikari, he probably told a member of the security team deployed behind him that he wanted to get down from the vehicle and walk among the public.

Immediately sensing his gesture, the security team cordoned off the walkway and ushered him off. Only then did Modi continue his march toward the swearing-in ceremony, greeting the public. Thousands of people continued to greet him, and Modi, with complete impunity and fervor, waved his hands in response.(UPDATED ON 9TH MAY 2026)
