There is nothing wrong in calling you uncle,’ Omar Abdullah praises Chouhan

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday heaped praise on Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. During the launch of rural development projects at the SKICC in Srinagar, he described Chouhan as a “true friend and well-wisher” of Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah said that the people of Madhya Pradesh call him “Mama,” which is not wrong at all. While inaugurating the projects, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the central government does not believe in just making announcements but also in carrying out development at the ground level.
On this occasion, Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated 330 new road projects worth Rs 3,550 crore under the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). These projects will build approximately 1,600 kilometers of roads, benefiting 363 remote villages in Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed Shivraj Singh Chouhan as “Mama,” a fond name given to him by the people of Madhya Pradesh. He said, “There is nothing wrong in the people of Madhya Pradesh calling you ‘Mama.'”(UPDATED ON 28TH APRIL 2026)
