JDU demands disqualification of its own MP,

The Janata Dal (United) has demanded the disqualification of its MP Giridhari Yadav for anti-party activities. The JDU has also submitted a notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The notice was served on Tuesday by JDU Parliamentary Party leader in the Lok Sabha, Dileshwar Kamat.
Girdhari Yadav is the Member of Parliament from the Banka Lok Sabha seat in Bihar. Party working president Sanjay Kumar Jha said the notice against Yadav was served because his son, Chanakya Prakash Ranjan, contested the Bihar Assembly elections as a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate from the Belhar seat, which falls under the Banka Lok Sabha constituency.
“After this, what other option is left for him except to voluntarily leave the party? It is against this backdrop that our leader in the Lok Sabha, Dileshwar Kamat, has submitted the notice,” the JDU Rajya Sabha member said in Parliament on Wednesday.
Jha also noted that Yadav had taken a different stance regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar, even though the party was in favor of the process.
JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that Kamat submitted the notice in the party’s interest after a decision was made in this regard. (UPDATED ON 25TH MARCH 2026)
