P. Kumaran Visits Angkor Wat Temple In Cambodia

Secretary (East), External Affairs Ministry, P. Kumaran, today visited the Angkor Wat Temple and Ta Prohm Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Angkor Wat is the world’s largest ancient temple complex in Cambodia and a magnificent symbol of India-Cambodia shared civilisational heritage.

The External Affairs Ministry said that from 1986-1993, India was the first country to extend support for its restoration. The Archaeological Survey of India is leading restoration and conservation efforts in Ta Prohm Temple. Two phases of restoration have been successfully completed, with the third phase currently underway.(UPDATED ON 22ND MARCH 2-26
