Under Leadership Modi, There will be No Compromise on Farmers’ Interests

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has now emerged as the ‘food basket’ of the country. The State Government has resolved to make Madhya Pradesh a leading state in the fields of agriculture, food processing and pulse production. A new model of development is being prepared by integrating farmers, industry and trade. Whether it is land or machinery, the State Government is fully committed to providing all possible support at every level to help farmers and traders expand their activities. During the ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’, the State Government has set a target of doubling farmers’ income. The mandi tax on tur (pigeon pea) has been abolished, which will benefit the pulse milling industry. Relief on urad and masoor is also under consideration.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that pulses hold special importance in daily life. Idioms have even been coined around moong and masoor. Pulses are a major source of protein, and it is a matter of pride that India is the world’s largest producer and consumer of pulses. In a vegetarian culture, pulses are the primary source of protein. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing an event under the Grain-Ex India exhibition organised by the All India Dal Mill Association in Indore.
