Air Marshal Sanjee bassumes the charge

Air Marshal KAA Sanjeeb AVSM VSM assumed the charge of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on 01 September 2026. The Air Marshal, after taking over, laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in honour of the personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice in Service of the Nation.
The Air Officer was commissioned in the IAF on 03 September 1988 in the Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical Branch). He has extensive field experience on IL-76, Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and Boeing 737-200 aircraft. He was the Lead Engineer and Team leader of the Air HQ Project Management Team for induction of the first IL-78 Flight Refueller Aircraft (FRA) into IAF in 2003. He also holds credit of being one of the pioneers involved in inducting and operationalising the AWACS fleet in the IAF. The Air Officer is an alumnus of Bangladesh Flight Safety Institute and the prestigious Indian Institute of Public Administration.
In his distinguished career spanning more than three decades, the Air Officer has held various important field and staff appointments. Prior to assuming the present appointment, the Air Officer held the appointment of Director General (Aircraft). Director General (System) and Assistant Chief of the Air Sraff (Maintenance Plans) at Air HQ.(UPDATED ON 1ST SEPTEMBER 2026)
