India Sends Fourth Flight Carrying 11 Tonnes Of Humanitarian Aid To Nepal
India has provided 68.5 tonnes of relief materials to flood-hit Nepal and sent technical teams, forensic experts and equipment to assist in search and rescue operations. A fourth flight carrying 11 tonnes of relief assistance landed in Nepal today, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a post on X.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, in a statement yesterday, said India has sent a specialised technical contingent, including tunnel experts, along with equipment for search and rescue operations in hydropower tunnels in the flood-affected Trishuli area of Nuwakot district. Workers are believed to be trapped in hydropower tunnels following Wednesday’s devastating flash floods. The team also conducted an aerial survey of the Chilime and Langtang areas before beginning rescue-related work around the tunnel area.
The embassy said, India has also sent forensic experts and equipment for DNA analysis, along with relief supplies including blankets, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, plastic sheets and hygiene kits. It said, additionally, 16 trucks carrying equipment for a 230-foot single-lane modular steel bridge have arrived there. Nepal has sought assistance for the construction of 42 Bailey bridges to restore transport links in the flood-hit areas. (updated on 30th August 2026)
