Ganesh Singh raised various issues in the House

Ganesh Singh, the seniormost member of the Lok Sabha from the Satna parliamentary constituency in Madhya Pradesh, today raised various issues in the House, including the environment, stubble burning, and pollution. He said, “I would like to draw the government’s attention to an important matter of public interest and environmental concern. In agriculture-dominated regions, stubble burning causes air pollution, reduces soil fertility, and adversely affects public health. If the collection, processing, and storage of stubble are made employment-generating activities under the VB-G Ram-G Act, 2025, it will provide employment to rural people and offer a permanent solution to the problem of stubble burning.”

He also said that the government should procure stubble and establish fodder banks, providing fodder to livestock owners and cow shelters at subsidized rates. This would give farmers additional income while ensuring adequate fodder for livestock.

Ganesh Singh said that solid waste management in rural areas is also a major challenge. Activities such as waste collection, segregation, and scientific disposal should also be included under the Act to promote rural cleanliness, public health, and environmental conservation.

He urged the government to include these activities in the VB-G Ram-G Act, 2025, and launch a pilot project in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh so that, based on its successful outcomes, it can be implemented across the country.(UPDATED ON 21ST JULY 2026)
