Lok Sabha Speaker convenes Business Advisory Committee meeting

The Lok Sabha’s Business Advisory Committee (BAC) met today under the chairmanship of the Speaker. The meeting was held to prepare for Parliament’s Monsoon Session, which begins on Monday. During the meeting, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla invited representatives of all political parties in the Lok Sabha to present their views on issues of public interest.
During the meeting, members of the government and various political parties shared their views on the legislative and other business to be taken up during the session. Members also suggested several matters of public importance and national concern for discussion during the session.
Speaker Om Birla emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue, meaningful participation, and upholding the highest parliamentary traditions. He appealed to all parties to extend their full cooperation in ensuring that the proceedings are conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner so that issues concerning the public can be discussed thoroughly and productively.
The committee took note of the suggestions made by the members. The discussion schedule and the allocation of time for various items of business will be decided in accordance with established parliamentary procedures and after consultation with the government and leaders of political parties.
The Speaker expressed confidence that all members would work together to ensure a productive and respectful Monsoon Session in the larger public interest.(UPDATED ON 19TH jULY 2026)
