Shubhendu Adhikari’s first statement after being elected leader

Suvendu Adhikari will be the new Chief Minister of West Bengal. Home Minister Amit Shah announced Suvendu’s name as the new Chief Minister of West Bengal on Friday. Following this, Suvendu Adhikari stated that his government will fulfill all the promises made by PM Modi and other senior party leaders during the elections in the next five years. He also stated that the core mantra of his government will be “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas.”
Shubhendu said he would focus on talking less and doing more. Speaking on the issue of women’s safety, he said he would reopen investigations into the RG Tax and Sandeshkhali cases. He said, “We will fulfill the Prime Minister’s guarantee. In the coming days, we will have to bring 60% of the people to our side.”
“Whatever guarantees Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given, the BJP government in the state will fulfill all the responsibilities,” (updated on 8th may 2026)
