No shortage of petrolium proeuct- 3 member committee formed

The Union government has taken a major step to ensure there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas in the country. The government has formed a special committee, tasked with overseeing the supply of petrol, diesel, and gas, headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The three-minister committee includes External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
It’s worth noting that long queues are being seen outside gas agencies in many major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, and Bhopal. People are waiting for hours to get their cylinders refilled, largely due to reports of ongoing wars and tensions in some countries around the world (including the Middle East).
These reports have sparked fear among the public that cooking gas supplies may be disrupted or prices may rise in the near future. This panic has led people to rush to stock up on gas ahead of time, creating chaos in the markets.
However, the government has completely dismissed these concerns. It maintains that the country has sufficient gas and oil stocks and there are no disruptions to the supply chain. The Petroleum Ministry has clarified that the international situation will not impact India’s domestic supply and that gas supplies will continue as normal. The government has appealed to the public to ignore rumors and avoid panic booking, as the country’s energy supply is completely safe.(updated on 12th March 2026)
