Mizoram celebrated the Republic Day

Along with the rest of the nation, Mizoram celebrated the Republic Day with enthusiasm and solemnity across the State. The main State-level function was held at Lammual Ground, Aizawl, beginning at 9:00 am. Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), unfurled the National Flag, returned the salute accorded by the 23 parade contingents, and subsequently delivered the Republic Day address, marking the occasion with dignity and national pride.
In his Republic Day address, Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh extended warm greetings to the people of Mizoram on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. He recalled that seventy-six years ago, the people of India adopted the Constitution to secure justice, liberty, equality and fraternity for all, and reaffirmed the nation’s collective commitment to preserving unity and integrity under this great Constitution. The Governor paid rich tribute to the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for the country’s independence and stressed the need to diligently pursue and realise the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
The Governor further highlighted several notable achievements and initiatives undertaken by the Mizoram Government in recent times, reflecting its continued efforts towards inclusive development, good governance and the welfare of the people. .(UPDATED ON 26TH JANUARY 2026)
