BJP will rule in Maharashtra’s most of Local bodies-results in favour

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance is headed for a big victory in the state’s municipal elections which were held on Thursday. Counting of votes started at 10 am Friday. The most crucial of these election is the polling in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which is India’s richest civic body while one of the richest in Asia.

Maharastra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called up state BJP chief Ravindra Chauhan, congratulating him on the alliance’s massive lead in the municipal polls. In a post on X, Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “BJP writes history once again at the Municipal Corporation Election 2025-26!”(updated on 16th january 2026)
