In Bengal, eggs were thrown at TMC MP Mahua Moitra by a crowd.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra alleged on Wednesday that a crowd gathered outside a restaurant in West Bengal threw eggs at her. Moitra shared a video on her X account showing some people from the crowd standing on the road throwing eggs at the MP. The video also shows several police personnel near the crowd while the eggs were being thrown. The Krishnanagar MP alleged that BJP workers carried out the attack while the state police remained mere spectators.

Since the BJP’s victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections held in May, several TMC leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee, have reportedly been targeted with egg-throwing incidents. Earlier, on June 7, some miscreants threw eggs at the vehicle of TMC leader Sujoy Hazra in Midnapore. Eggs were also thrown at Kolkata councillors Bappaditya Dasgupta and Mohammad Jasimuddin. On June 18, Udayan Guha was similarly targeted, while on June 19, protesters outside the Asansol court threw eggs at TMC leader Vijay Singh while chanting slogans of “thief, thief.”
