No-Trust Motion Against Speaker and Middle East war matter make storm in parliament

The second phase of Parliament’s Budget Session begins on Monday, and the first debate is expected to be on a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla. Three Congress MPs — Mohammed Javed, Kodikunnil Suresh, and Mallu Ravi – had filed the notice for the no-confidence motion, which was supported by 118 opposition MPs.
The issue of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East may also be raised prominently, as the opposition parties are already continuously attacking the government over its stance towards Iran, the “discount” given by the US on India buying oil from Russia and other issues.
According to the revised agenda of the Lok Sabha for March 9 released on Sunday evening, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will make a statement in the Lok Sabha regarding the ‘situation in West Asia’.Apart from this, the deletion of around 60 lakh names due to SIR in West Bengal is also likely to impact the parliamentary proceedings.
The opposition is also likely to raise questions on the India-US interim trade agreement in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s decision against the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
