Indian Air Force Airlifts Sacred Relics Of Lord Buddha To Mongolia

An Indian Air Force IL-76 strategic airlift aircraft, Gajraj, has transported the sacred relics of Lord Buddha from Delhi to Mongolia.

In a statement, Ministry of Defence said that the aircraft undertook an overnight flight and landed in Mongolia at 11:25 AM yesterday.

The mission was undertaken by the Indian Air Force in support of India’s efforts to strengthen cultural ties with friendly nations.

The Defence Ministry underlined that the airlift reflects the Air Force’s capability to support national objectives and contribute to India’s global cultural outreach initiatives.(UPDATED ON 31ST MAY 2026)
